Solving an issue for a customer is only one factor of a successful project. Delivering it on time is a whole other dilemma. And thanks to ERIKS’ expertise and efficiency, yet another customer was left with a smile on their face.
One ERIKS Integrated Solutions customer was experiencing issues with one of its glycol pumps, which was on the verge of failure. The glycol cools the process in the plant, therefore the resulting downtime would have caused catastrophic disruption to the customers facility.
A spare pump was on order but inconveniently had been sitting at a competitors site for the past three month, with them unable to repair it. This is where ERIKS’ know-how and expertise were called upon. Kieran Howard, a Service Centre Manager sprang into action to organise a resolution for this problem.
Following an investigation, it was ascertained that it was the mechanical seal that had failed. The ERIKS engineer identified the mechanical seals and sourced the appropriated components via the original pump manufacturer.
The on-site team co-ordinated a courier to collect the seals, along with the full pump set up, and delivered them to the ERIKS engineering facility at Haydock.
Upon arrival, the ERIKS engineers really got to work, fitting new mechanical seals to the pump, whilst providing the customer with an update the very same evening.
The pump was returned to the site at 2am that morning and was back to full working order at 8am ready for production to continue.
Once again, the ERIKS team kept their cool, using their expertise to identify the issue and deliver a resolution right on cue – even if it was out of hours.
